Consider Zendrop for a connected catalog and fulfillment workflow, CJdropshipping when its sourcing and optional services fit your exact item, and an operating agent when a repeat product needs agreed supplier, inspection, packing or problem-solving work. Choose from a complete quote and clear responsibilities. None is always cheapest or fastest.
AIDrop Agent publishes this comparison and sells agent services. We use public platform documents, without head-to-head orders. The agent duties below are things to agree and check in a proposal, not proof that AIDrop or another agent has beaten either platform.
01
Start with the same blue item
A customer orders the blue version of your repeat product. Someone must find it, match it to your store, pay for the supplier purchase, pack the right color and provide tracking. If a red item arrives, someone must arrange the remedy.
Keep that same product and destination in view when comparing the three choices. A SKU is the code identifying the item or variant; the code must follow the blue item through the order.
On a phone, swipe sideways to compare all columns.
| Work the order needs | Zendrop | CJdropshipping | Agent proposal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find the product | Catalog and eligible sourcing requests | Catalog and sourcing requests | Name the supplier search and product approval work. |
| Match it to the store | Check the connected-product workflow | Connect the exact store variant to its CJ item. | Agree how the order file or permitted integration identifies it. |
| Keep the product and packing consistent | Check eligible branding and product terms. | Check product, packaging stock and warehouse setup. | Attach the approved sample, specification and packing version. |
| Dispatch and tracking | Confirm payment, fulfillment and carrier options. | Confirm warehouse, payment and shipping method. | Name who releases the purchase and provides tracking. |
| Fix a wrong item or loss | Use the applicable policy and support route. | Use the applicable dispute and return route. | Name the evidence, approval, response contact and cost owner. |
Platform columns describe documented options. The agent column describes obligations you need to negotiate. Exact products, account settings and terms still determine what is available.
02
Check what Zendrop and CJ include
Zendrop: identify the billing model first
Zendrop’s current plan guide, checked September 28, 2026, distinguishes older standard accounts from the current model for new signups through Shopify or Wix.
Legacy standard Pro is $49/month or $399/year; Plus is $79/month or $549/year, billed directly through Zendrop. Its usage-based model has $29/month for 1–20 linked products, $49 for 21–100 and $79 for 101 or more, capped. Check your account’s Billing page to identify which applies.
Usage billing uses the highest number linked during the cycle and any minimum tier commitment. It does not count sales or simply look at today’s linked products. Unlinking everything after reaching a higher count does not erase that cycle’s charge. That matters when you import a large test range and then cut it down.
Check the bill left by a temporary test catalog
Suppose a Flex account peaks at 25 linked products, then the seller keeps only 12 and later unlinks all of them. Under the documented tiers, that cycle still falls in the $49 bracket, unless another minimum commitment changes the bill. This is a teaching example, not an account invoice.
Before importing a test range, open the account’s Billing page and record the cycle dates, peak count and any minimum commitment. Reducing today’s count does not reverse that cycle’s peak; verify the documented cancellation conditions for future charges separately.
For the blue item, check catalog availability, eligible sourcing requests, the exact product and destination freight charge, and any branding requirement. A general branding feature does not confirm your particular blue shade or insert.
Zendrop’s own Private Agent offer is separate
Zendrop also has its own invite-only Private Agent program. Treat an eligible custom offer as a separate proposal. It is distinct from standard plans and from an unrelated operating agent.
CJ: quote the product and extra work together
CJ offers a catalog and a sourcing-request route for an item you cannot find. A request needs product details; it is not proof the exact variant will be available at your target price.
Its service-fee page describes storage, inspection, packing, labeling and other work. Ask which charges apply to your blue item, warehouse and destination.
Separate buying packaging stock from paying for each order to be packed. Where will the insert be stored, how many must you buy, and what happens when it runs out? Keep product, packing, handling and freight visible together. A service on a menu is not necessarily included in the product price.
03
Ask an agent for six written answers
An agent proposal should be as specific as the platform offer you are comparing. For the blue variant, ask for these six answers:
- Which item is approved? Attach the sample or specification, color requirements and packing version. Name who can approve a supplier or component substitution.
- What will you pay? State unit price at the quoted quantity, minimum order, stock deposit, currency and quote expiry.
- Who owns the stock? Identify product and packaging ownership, warehouse, stock reports and what happens to unused inventory.
- How does an order get released? State the order file or agreed integration, variant code, cutoff, approval authority and tracking handoff.
- What does delivery include? Name destination, shipping method, billable weight and separate inspection, packing or storage charges.
- Who fixes a mistake? State evidence deadlines, contact and backup, remedy options, approval authority and who pays.
These are proposed agreement terms, not standard features of every agent. If the quote cannot identify the blue variant and destination, you cannot compare it fairly.
Make the inspection scope explicit
Define “quality control,” too. Will someone check every unit or a sample from a batch? Against which specification, where is the result recorded, and who can stop a mismatched order? A named account manager is useful only if you know what they can decide.
Keep exclusions beside the price. Otherwise a cheaper proposal may quietly remove the inspection or packing work that made you consider an agent in the first place.
04
Know who pays, ships and fixes a wrong item
The customer pays your store; the supplier purchase still needs funding and release. Check the exact product connection and payment settings in Zendrop. Its order-flow guide says Shopify orders with Pending payment do not auto-fulfill and need handling.
CJ’s current order guide allows its Store Order Flow to accept an unlinked store order. That order goes to Invalid Orders until you complete the product connection; it cannot be processed normally while unlinked. Submission is therefore different from being ready to ship. Also confirm whether your route uses CJ logistics after payment or requires your shipping label before the warehouse starts.
For an agent, agree whether you send an order file, use a permitted integration or approve purchases manually. Identify the field carrying the blue SKU and the person who stops a red substitution before dispatch.
Now suppose red arrives. Keep the customer’s blue order confirmation, photos of the red item, original packaging and readable shipping label.
Zendrop’s refund policy requires evidence and its responsibility for the issue, within the applicable eligibility rules. The merchant still handles the customer’s refund. Its Order Issues view covers orders from the Zendrop Fulfillment supplier; other suppliers’ orders are not eligible for that view.
CJ’s dispute policy routes claims through CJ. For a wrong-color case it asks for a screenshot of the customer complaint including name, content and date. Photos or video, return instructions and the order’s destination, method and service conditions can also affect the claim. Do not turn the existence of a claim route into an automatic refund promise.
An agent agreement needs someone to gather the same evidence, check whether mapping or packing caused the error, approve a remedy and pay the agreed recovery cost. Set a response window and backup contact. Your customer needs an answer while those checks happen, whoever packed the item.
05
Compare complete quotes, then try one order
Give every option the same product specification and destination. Also match variant, quantity band, postcode, dispatch warehouse, carrier service, packaging version and quote period.

Add product, sourcing or service charges, packing, freight and payment or platform fees. State tax and duty treatment. Separate per-order costs from samples, setup, stock commitments, refundable deposits and monthly software. Ask what changes if the quoted carrier becomes unavailable or the unit price rises.
Here is illustrative arithmetic, not a vendor quote:
- Product $10, freight $6, packing $1: $10 + $6 + $1 = $17 — A base before other fees, storage, returns and acquisition.
- “Product and shipping” $14, omitted handling $4: $14 + $4 = $18 — The lower headline is more expensive once the missing work is added.
- $49 monthly fee over 25 orders: $49 ÷ 25 = $1.96 each — Recurring software adds to the order cost.
- Same $49 fee over five orders: $49 ÷ 5 = $9.80 each — A low-volume test carries a much larger allocation.
Replace every line with the written offer for your actual item and account. These examples do not establish any provider’s current landed cost.
Then try a controlled order with the approved variant and destination. This is a prospective test; we did not run it for the three providers.
On a phone, swipe sideways to compare all columns.
| Check | Evidence you want | Fix before expanding |
|---|---|---|
| Quote and identity | The variant and included work match the approved item. | Correct missing costs or specification. |
| Release | The correct SKU reaches the intended supplier or warehouse. | Fix mapping, funding or manual approval. |
| Parcel | Product and agreed insert or packaging match. | Identify the stock, picking or packing problem. |
| Tracking and remedy | You can see tracking and identify the claim owner. | Agree evidence and escalation when either is missing. |
If CJ shows an unconnected order, complete the mapping and check again. If an eligible Zendrop order is held, inspect Order Issues for the reason and requested action. If an agent cannot show a release record or accountable contact, make those requirements part of the agreement.
One correct sample order can reveal whether the handoffs exist. It cannot prove average delivery speed or a typical defect rate. Continue watching later orders before making those claims.
06
Keep, combine or move one product
A catalog test item may fit Zendrop’s connected workflow. CJ deserves a quote when its sourcing and optional services match the product and you can maintain its connections. A scoped agent proposal becomes relevant when a repeat item’s specification, packing or exceptions need agreed physical checks and contacts.
You do not need to move every SKU. Keep a test product on a platform while an agent handles a different repeat product, if that suits the business. Give each SKU one fulfillment owner and explain mixed-cart parcels to the customer. Two parties must not independently buy or release the same order.
A hybrid needs a permitted shared handoff
Combining work on one product needs more care. If an agent manages packaging stock and a platform handles an order step, confirm that the platform permits it. Write down who owns stock, triggers payment, updates tracking and handles claims. An unrelated agent cannot simply change Zendrop’s or CJ’s warehouse and refund process.
Delay a move while the product is changing, a quote omits deposits or recovery costs, packing stock cannot be accounted for, or the proposed connection has not passed an order check.
Move a bounded share only after specification, complete cost, release and exception responsibility are agreed. Keep a way to return to the working route until orders and customer updates reconcile.
For a repeat product needing China-side checks, AIDrop’s quality control service can help with agreed sample or specification checks, packing questions and evidence for physical exceptions.
Send the product link, variant, quantity, destination, approved sample or specification and recurring problem through contact.
Agree the inspection scope and remedy responsibilities in the proposal; this does not establish a platform integration or guarantee a result.
If listing, monitoring and repricing are the main problem, compare the wider tools in the dropshipping automation software guide. Keep your current arrangement while a material cost or responsibility remains unresolved.
07
Frequently asked questions
Is an agent always faster or cheaper?
No. Product, stock location, carrier, destination, quantity and included work determine cost and timing. Compare matched quotes and a controlled order, then monitor later orders.
Do Zendrop and CJ offer sourcing or branding?
Both document sourcing or customization options. Availability and charges depend on the account, product and setup. Ask what your selected order includes.
Can I use a platform and an agent together?
Possibly, with permitted handoffs and clear stock, order, tracking and claim responsibilities. Avoid two parties releasing the same order or each assuming the other will fix a return.
