CJdropshipping and Zendrop are worth comparing if you need help with sourcing and fulfillment. Syncee and Doba offer access to supplier catalogs; Shopify Collective connects eligible Shopify stores with other brands; Printful produces and ships custom printed products. For a product with established demand, buying wholesale and using a fulfillment partner may also make sense.
A new app can save time on order entry while leaving the supplier and delivery route unchanged. Moving to locally held stock changes more: the product range, cost, delivery and return arrangements may all differ. Choose which of those changes you actually need before comparing providers.
How this comparison was made: we reviewed the providers’ published service descriptions. We have not tested their fulfillment performance. Confirm availability, a quote for your product and any account requirements before moving orders.
01
Start with the operating change you need
Look at recent orders first. Delayed dispatch points to a different problem from a long international journey. Wrong variants, inconsistent quality and time spent copying addresses each call for different improvements. Use the table to narrow the search around the problem you can actually see.
| Your main need | Options worth investigating | What must change in the actual arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Coordinate sourcing and fulfillment | CJdropshipping, Zendrop | Product availability, handling responsibility and the quoted shipping route |
| Find different regional suppliers | Syncee, Doba, direct suppliers | Exact stock location, destination service and supplier terms |
| Sell other Shopify brands | Shopify Collective | Store eligibility, supplier relationship, available products and agreed policies |
| Sell your own printed designs | Printful | Product design, production process, sample approval and production-plus-shipping cost |
| Control a proven product more closely | Direct wholesale plus a fulfillment partner, or an agreed agent service | Inventory ownership, specification control, storage and release responsibilities |
| Reduce repetitive ordering | A suitable integration or automation tool | Data flow and exception handling; the physical supplier may remain unchanged |
The AliExpress dropshipping guide covers the original operating model. Use your current costs and completed orders as the baseline for each quote.

CJdropshipping and Zendrop: sourcing with fulfillment services
Both services combine sourcing with order handling. They are worth investigating when coordinating sellers, packaging and dispatch is taking more time than your business can support. Ask each to quote the work you need for the same product and destinations.
CJdropshipping
CJdropshipping’s site lists sourcing, custom packaging, bulk purchasing and fulfillment, alongside store connections and shipping-cost tools. If you already sell a product, send its specification and ask how CJ would source, prepare and ship it.
Include the variant, expected quantity, customer destinations, packaging and inspection requirements. Ask whether the handling period includes time to procure the goods. If CJ proposes a catalog substitute, compare it with your approved sample before accepting the quote.
Ask CJ to itemize procurement, packaging, storage and shipping. An incomplete quote can make a service appear cheaper simply because part of the work is missing.
Zendrop
Zendrop’s published offering includes sourcing and quoting, store integrations, and US and China warehousing or fulfillment services. The first question is where your particular product would come from and when it becomes available to ship.
An item may already be available, need sourcing after an order, or require you to buy stock in advance. These arrangements have different dispatch times and cash requirements. Get the proposed arrangement in the quote before comparing it with your current supplier.
Check which functions the proposed plan includes, then test the product and route. Use those results to set your delivery promise; a list of platform capabilities cannot tell you how your own order will be handled.
For a fair comparison, hold the item, quantity, package and destination constant. If a service proposes a different product, assess whether you want that change before weighing the price.
Where CJ and Zendrop differ in practice
For a WooCommerce or eBay store, CJ is the more directly compatible candidate in this pair. CJ lists both integrations, while Zendrop’s connection guide explicitly says it does not connect directly to either. For Shopify or Wix, both list support, so platform compatibility alone does not settle the choice. This is a shortlist decision based on documented connections, not a finding that one fulfills orders better.
For a US-focused Shopify store, Zendrop’s domestic supplier catalog is worth examining when you want an existing US-dispatched assortment. Its US supplier guidance also sets material limits: those suppliers serve US addresses only, and their products do not offer custom branding or private labeling. Zendrop directs merchants seeking branded packaging to its China fulfillment arrangement and Private Agent Program. That makes the domestic catalog a poor match for a requirement combining international customers with your own packaging, even if the product itself looks suitable.
If you already have a supplier and want to retain that product source, CJ’s 3PL service explicitly accepts inventory sent from outside suppliers for storage, packing and dispatch. It also lists custom packaging. This gives you a route to evaluate without replacing the manufacturer, but it introduces an inventory purchase and warehouse costs. These published distinctions were checked in September 2026; they narrow the choice before a matched quote and delivery trial.
03
Syncee, Doba and Shopify Collective: change the supplier relationship
These services help you reach different suppliers or brands. Pay attention to who ships the goods and handles problems: that may be the individual supplier rather than the platform operator.
Syncee
Syncee describes its model as discovering and importing products, paying the supplier, and having that supplier fulfill the order. It also offers product and order automation. You are choosing both a platform workflow and individual suppliers.
For each supplier, confirm the variant’s shipping origin, destinations served, stock updates and return terms. The presence of local suppliers elsewhere in the catalog tells you little about where your selected item will ship from.
Watch mixed-supplier baskets. Three items from different suppliers may arrive in separate parcels and incur separate shipping charges. Work out how your checkout and delivery message will explain that before adding them to the store.
Doba
Doba’s own service description emphasizes supplier catalogs, US-stocked products, integrations, and inventory or price monitoring. For a US-focused store, the useful question is whether it has the right products in stock near your customers.
Check the exact SKU and shipping origin rather than applying a platform-wide stock claim to every item. Get the handling period and delivery estimate for the destination, then check the supplier’s return address and conditions. A domestic dispatch does not, by itself, settle the cost of a return or replacement.
Price the subscription against the catalog you plan to maintain. A large product allowance has little value if only a few items meet your requirements; calculate whether those items can cover the fee at a realistic sales volume.
Shopify Collective
Shopify’s retailer documentation describes Collective as a way for Shopify stores to sell products supplied by other Shopify stores. Supplier products can be imported, orders are forwarded and tracking information is synchronized. Access depends on supported countries, currencies and eligibility requirements.
Collective suits a store that wants to add products from participating brands. Consider how those products fit your audience, then review the supplier price, shipping and return policies. It is a different assortment decision from finding another source for an existing generic item.
Deduct payment fees, acquisition, returns and operating expenses from the retail-to-supplier price difference. That gives you a more useful view of what you might keep than the wholesale discount alone.
04
Printful: change the product, not just the supplier
Printful explains its service as printing, packing and shipping products made to order from your designs. It suits a business built around artwork or custom printed goods. Moving to it usually means changing the offer, rather than finding another supplier for the same AliExpress item.
Choose the blank product and decoration method, prepare artwork you have permission to use, and connect the store. Then order samples. Compare the print placement and color with the mockup, check the physical quality and confirm the size information customers will need.
Allow for production as well as shipping. A carrier estimate begins after a parcel enters the shipping process, while an on-demand item first has to be produced. Confirm the complete expected timing for the product and destination you intend to advertise.
The cost comparison also changes. Compare the completed printed item, fulfillment and shipping against the selling price your design can support. A cheaper generic item is not an equivalent offer. Conversely, custom artwork alone does not establish customer demand, so keep the initial test budget controlled.
05
Direct wholesale, agents and fulfillment partners
A direct wholesale relationship can give you a more specific purchasing agreement around materials, packaging or replenishment. Alibaba is one place to investigate suppliers, but a marketplace listing is only a starting point. Confirm the minimum order, sample, specification, lead time and payment terms with the supplier.
Buying stock adds work between the supplier purchase and the customer order. A fulfillment partner may receive and store it, then pick and ship individual orders. Budget for:
- Inbound transport and receiving.
- Storage, pick and pack, packaging and outbound shipping.
- Returns handling and any eventual disposal of unsold stock.
An agent can coordinate agreed parts of the China-side work. Ask which activities the fee covers, who owns the inventory, what inspection takes place and what happens if goods fail it. Any pricing, inspection scope or delivery commitment needs to be explicit in the agreement.
Supplier: sells or manufactures the goods. Confirm the product specification and purchasing terms with this party.
Fulfillment partner or agent: performs the agreed storage, coordination or order work. Confirm inventory ownership and responsibility for product issues separately.
The supplier, agent and 3PL comparison explains those distinctions. This route is most persuasive when a defined product and measured demand justify the additional commitment. It is harder to justify when you are still changing the product every week.
06
Compare the full cost before paying to switch
Request quotes using the same product specification, quantity, destination and packaging. Include subscription allocation, procurement, fulfillment, shipping and applicable import charges. Then add expected failure costs and customer service work using your own experience or clearly marked assumptions.
Here is a hypothetical comparison of two equivalent products. It is not a quote from any provider named above. Suppose supplier A charges $8 for the item and $5 for shipping, with an assumed $0.80 per-order allowance for unrecovered problems. Supplier B charges $10 and $4, with a $0.40 allowance and $0.60 in allocated subscription cost.
| Assumed cost | Supplier A | Supplier B |
|---|---|---|
| Product | $8.00 | $10.00 |
| Shipping | $5.00 | $4.00 |
| Unrecovered problem allowance | $0.80 | $0.40 |
| Allocated subscription | $0.00 | $0.60 |
| Modeled cost per order | $13.80 | $15.00 |
Supplier B costs $1.20 more per order in this example. To justify paying it, you would need a benefit worth at least that difference: lower costs elsewhere, a higher price customers accept, or improved completed sales. A claim of faster shipping is a reason to test that possibility, not a benefit already measured here.

Check the subscription cost at a slower sales volume
The $0.60 allocation could represent a $60 monthly fee spread across 100 orders. At 20 orders, that same fee becomes $3 per order. Recalculate at a conservative volume as well as your target before signing up.
Replace the failure allowance with your actual experience as evidence develops. When you review realized costs, avoid deducting both the allowance and the same recorded refund. Keep costs common to both arrangements visible in the full business calculation even if they cancel out in the narrow supplier comparison.
Add the inventory cash commitment
A lower per-unit wholesale price may require an advance stock purchase. That affects cash and exposure to unsold goods even if the expected margin improves. Compare the total amount due before sales, the replenishment lead time and what happens if demand slows.
Ask whether prepaid packaging, reserved stock or a warehouse balance can be refunded or transferred if you leave. Those terms can matter more than a small reduction in the unit price. Keep the initial commitment proportionate to the evidence you have about the product.
07
Verify shipping, returns and integrations on the actual order
Delivery and returns
Confirm where the selected variant is stocked, how long handling takes and which shipping service will be used. Ask what happens when that stock runs out. If the supplier switches to another country, you may need to change both the delivery estimate and your cost calculation.
For returns, establish the address, authorization process, evidence requirements and who pays each cost. Distinguish an incorrect or damaged item from a customer changing their mind. Then check that your own published policy and applicable obligations are supported by the arrangement.
Order software and product assets
Run a test of variant mapping, order submission, payment, tracking updates and cancellation. Check how a failed or ambiguous submission appears before enabling bulk processing. That tells you more about the connection you will use than a partner logo.
Ask whether product photos and descriptions can be used. If the supplier changes, old assets may no longer represent the item being sent. Keep the product page synchronized with the approved sample and arrangement.
You are ready for a limited trial when the product is acceptable, the delivery and return terms support your offer, the costs work, and you can follow an order through the system.
08
Migrate without losing track of existing orders
Move one product or a limited group first. Keep the previous supplier record and existing purchase references available until those orders and any problems are resolved. A replacement supplier should receive only the orders deliberately assigned to it.
- Approve the new sample, specification, quote and route.
- Update the product and variant mapping in the store or order tool.
- Check which open customer orders have already been purchased from the old supplier.
- Run the new flow on a controlled order and confirm payment, acceptance and tracking.
- Review the delivered item and complete cost before expanding the migration.
If an order submission times out, check whether the supplier received it before trying again. If the replacement cannot supply a variant, pause that variant rather than silently substituting a different item. That prevents the migration from creating duplicate purchases or sending customers a product they did not choose.
Keep a simple comparison of the old and new arrangement as orders complete. Record product issues, dispatch timing, delivery, support requests and unrecovered costs. Use the results from successive orders to decide how much more volume to move.
09
When keeping AliExpress makes sense
If the seller supplies the approved item consistently, delivery fits your promise and completed orders leave enough money, keeping the arrangement may be the better choice. A switch takes time and introduces another product and process to verify.
If the main problem is repeated manual entry, improve the order workflow before replacing a good physical supplier. If the issue is one unreliable seller, compare another properly checked seller as well as a new platform. If your product has weak demand, a different sourcing dashboard will not necessarily improve the offer.
Revisit the decision when the requirements change. A product that worked for a small test may later need branded packaging, consolidated shipments or reserved inventory. Use the store-platform and operations hub to explore the related systems without treating a platform switch as the only growth option.

Frequently asked questions
Which AliExpress alternative is best for a beginner?
Choose the arrangement that lets you test a suitable product without taking on commitments you do not understand. CJdropshipping or Zendrop may suit a coordinated workflow; a supplier marketplace may suit a specific regional catalog. Compare the exact product, cost and support process before choosing. There is no single best option for every niche and destination.
Which option has the fastest shipping?
An in-stock product near the customer may avoid part of a cross-border route, but actual timing still includes processing and local delivery. Verify the exact variant and destination. A platform-wide warehouse claim or a comparison article’s average is not a reliable promise for your order.
Is DSers an alternative to AliExpress?
DSers is an order and sourcing workflow service, while AliExpress is a marketplace source. Depending on the current integration and sourcing arrangement, a tool can work with different sources. Changing the software alone does not necessarily change who supplies or ships the product.
Is buying wholesale cheaper than dropshipping each order?
The unit price can be lower, but compare inbound freight, storage, fulfillment, unsold stock and upfront cash. A discounted batch does not help if too much remains unsold or if the fulfillment cost removes the saving.
Should I move the whole catalog at once?
Usually a limited migration is easier to verify. Approve and test the new arrangement on selected products, keep existing purchases traceable and expand when actual deliveries support the decision. A single supplier may not be the best fit for every product or destination.
Are the services in this article independently tested?
No. The comparison uses their published service descriptions and explains what to verify in your own quotation and trial. The worked costs are hypothetical. They illustrate the decision, not measured prices or performance of the named providers.
